Well, the first week in Australia was really interesting. Let’s make a first synthesis ;
I have a contact with the Western-Australian government, through its energy and foreign trade ministry. I have names, e-mails, functions and phone numbers of the ministers in charge of the business sectors that concern my project. This a first relevant step. For instance, this is a way to connect companies through existing connections, and it can help my activity in Europe.
Then, I’ve got a contact with the economic person of the Alliance Francaise in Perth. In terms of networking, this person can be a very good French contact for the following steps of my relationships with the Australian construction market.
Concerning ideas of construction, I’ve made a little pics report in the town of Mandurah, in the south of Perth, where a pilot sustainable houses neighborhood has been built. It can be watched on the slideshow on the right of the home page of the blog, as well as on my picasaweb account.
In terms of business, I’ve made an interesting visit in a timber industry in Nannup. His sales manager is interested in developing business in France and Europe, and has a good opinion on introducing him to the distributors, builders and promoters through a consulting mission I would provide to them. This is definitely a contact to keep for me.
Last but not least, I have a contact with the trade commission of the federal Australian government. This commission gives assistance to companies in their export development. It’s a wonderful contact for my prospection projects in Australia, because this commission is the typical kind of organization I would like to work for.
The project is going on with South Australia, and then South Wales.
Talk to you soon.
Regards,
Pierre-Loïc
